Biography
Andrew Lunsford's path to the opera stage is unlike any other. A successful entrepreneur who built a company to over $5 million in annual revenue, he discovered his voice at the age of thirty — and within months, every music school he auditioned for offered him a full scholarship.
Described by Inside Magazine as possessing “a take-your-breath-away high C,” and by Fox News as “quickly rising to the top due to his jaw-dropping voice,” Andrew studied under the legendary soprano Carol Vaness at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, earning his Master of Music with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
His story caught the attention of CNN, ABC, Fox News, and NBC, earning him the moniker The Accidental Tenor. But what followed was no accident: ten featured performances at Carnegie Hall's Isaac Stern Auditorium, a recital at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, appearances at the Kennedy Center, and a starring role in the world premiere of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay by Mason Bates and Gene Scheer.
Andrew brings both artistic depth and entrepreneurial vision to everything he does — from leading roles on the world's most prestigious stages to mentoring the next generation of classical singers as National Chair of the Shirley Rabb Winston Classical Voice Scholarship Competition.
